SLIM plays Helstonbury “Thank You” Party!

Helstonbury-pic1-rev2SLIM performed at a special event this weekend hosted by landlords Kim and Simon of The Blue Anchor in Helston to thank musicians for their support with the HELSTONBURY FESTIVAL. Every year the event raises funds to support local charities. This was the 4th show this weekend for SLIM who also filled in on Thursday at The Brook in Plympton for Steve Black & Alan West as well as The Carpenters in Metherell and The Fisherman’s in Looe – all of which were a great success. Slim seems to be going from strength to strength. Take a look at his new ‘family members’ in the photo….. he’s on a roll!

Slim had a great time playing for an enthusiastic audience at The Ocean City Blues Festival in Plymouth, UK, this weekend. The sound engineers literally had to sweep the water off of the stage before setting up for Slim! However, all was good for a great set. Thanks to all of those who came out to support him!

SLIM back from the USA

JRandmike-sunstudiospic-rev2Slim is back from a great month touring the USA. He played at Evangeline’s in St Louis, MO, Scottie’s Grill, Texarkana, TX, Fully Stacked, Shreveport, LA, Huey’s Midtown Blues, Brews & Burgers, Memphis, TN and the Pourhouse in Nashville, TN. All venues were well received and welcomed him back. In Memphis he received a particulary good response from the locals and even got kuddos from an old band mate of Elvis! A lot of miles on open roads through cotton fields, Mexican food, a wedding (his son, Stephen & Amber), and good old Southern hospitality. I went with Slim to his old stompin’ ground in Texas, met up with old friends, and generally had a blast! Jayne

SlimCUrev2The latest new release by Slim titled “‘Til The Wheels Fall Off” is out now! A single inspired by legendary musician, Wilko Johnson, the original guitar player of the band Dr. Feelgood, who upon hearing he had terminal pancreatic cancer and only had a few months to live, felt more alive than he ever had. Despite his diagnosis, he continued to perform until a doctor was unexpectedly able to cure him by removing a football sized tumour. “Man, there’s nothing like being told you’re dying to make you feel alive”, says Wilko.

The Herald News

“Watching Slim move between a whole host of instruments is quite something – to see this one man band in front of your own eyes makes you appreciate the skill it takes to accompany this type of playing.” – Emily Smith, The Herald, March 7, 2015

Slim Invited to Play in Portugal

Slim had the pleasure of entertaining a full house of locals recently at Grill Mix in Carcavelos, Portugal. Thanks to the owners, the staff Raul & Marina, and also Railan Melo the local Brazilian musician, who all made him welcome. Despite the language barrier, there was an incredible response, including from the media, with heart felt requests for Slim to return. This confirms that music truly is our universal language!

Slim will be performing live on BBC Radio Devon this Sat 17th May at 11am with an exclusive interview on the David Fitzgerald Show in order to promote his appearance at The Dart Music Festival same day 2pm!
